Torrential rains raged through the north-eastern part of the country last week, sweeping away houses and causing damages worth billions of crowns.Firefighters and army troops have been helping to rescue people and carry out clean-up operations.The flooding has been the worst natural disaster for the Czechs since the 2002 floods which killed 17 people.
