Prague - One out of five people in leadership positions in Czech firms are foreigners, most of them Ukrainian and Russian nationals, according to an analysis conducted by Dun & Bradstreet.

In total there are 460,000 people in Czech companies' boards. About 372,000 of them are Czech nationals, the remaining 88,000 are foreigners.

The ranks of foreign managers are dominated by Ukrainians (26,000) and Russians (19,700).

"This is linked above all to the boom of small and mid-sized enterprises of these nationalities in the Czech Republic, especially in the fields of trade, services and construction," said Alena Seoud from Dun & Bradstreet.

The number of Slovak and German managers of Czech companies is considerably smaller.

Austria, Italy, Moldavia, Poland and Kazakhstan have each more than 1,000 nationals in the boards of Czech companies.

There was 366,500 firms registered in the Czech Republic by the end of June, according to the study. More than 93 percent of them were limited liability companies, the rest shareholder-owned firms.

According to April data from the Czech Capital Information Agency (CEKIA), the popularity of limited liability firms in the Czech Republic is on the rise. Most of them is owned by one person.
